At Fireball Studio, we thrive on bringing bold, stylized worlds to life—and few projects have been as creatively rich (or as fun) as our collaboration with Player First Games on the development of MultiVersus.
As a co-development partner, our team of a dozen passionate artists and animators contributed across multiple areas of the game, working hand-in-hand with the incredible team at Player First to help shape the unique, chaotic, and character-filled experience that players around the world have come to love.
Building Worlds : Stage Development
One of our core missions on MultiVersus was helping to design and develop a wide variety of stages. From early concept sketches to final in-game visuals, our team went through dozens of iterations for each stage, constantly fine-tuning layout, visual storytelling, and player experience. Whether it was crafting iconic backdrops that resonate with fans or ensuring the environments felt dynamic and responsive in gameplay, we poured a ton of love (and countless hours) into each one.
BAM!
What’s a fighting game without satisfying ringouts? We created 2D animations for ringouts, featuring beloved characters from across the Warner Bros. universe. These animations were all about celebrating the IPs in a fun and explosive way, adding visual punch and personality every time a player knocks an opponent off the stage. Designing these ringouts gave us a chance to blend traditional animation flair with a modern, polished style that fits the MultiVersus aesthetic.
Multiversus ambition was huge, and needed many different kind of awesome assets. We also worked on animated stickers, banners, marketing background and much more!

We accompany you in every aspect of the game
Our involvement didn’t stop at environments and animation—we also contributed illustrations and game art throughout the development of the game. From early-stage ideation to polished marketing art, our artists helped define the look and feel of the game, exploring a tons of topics, environments, mood boards, and UI elements. Each piece aimed to support the larger vision of MultiVersus, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for players.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
None of this would have been possible without the tight-knit collaboration between Fireball and Player First Games. We were able to assemble a great crew of more than a dozen of artists who were fully invested in making this project shine. We’re proud of the work we accomplished together and incredibly excited to see players battling it out on the stages.
MultiVersus was a huge creative playground, and we’re grateful to have been part of it.
